Shari and Darlin

Care graduate, Shari Finger and her extraordinary Golden Retriever Darlin, were members of Illinois Search and Rescue (ISAR) for 5 years . She was trained in wilderness, cadaver, incinerated cadaver, water, and building searches. She even solved a murder when she found the missing evidence: body parts in plastic bags that had been dumped in Lake Shelby , IL.
In the fall of 2003 Darlin was diagnosed with a tick-borne disease " Ehrlichia canis ". Darlin died Oct. 7 , 2003 . (Be aware that dogs can still be bitten and infected even when on tick preventatives. For more information on this tick-borne disease, please see

Isis and Blue Monk CGC

Monk is a Care trained service dog for Isis. Isis has Cerebral Palsy which causes her to painfully cramp up. Monk has been trained to lie very close to Isis and support her which causes her muscles to relax. Monk is an integral part of her physical therapy. Everyone at Care is immensely proud of Monk, the little Yorkie who could!

Diane and Lisa

Lisa - a Care trained, street-certified service dog that epitomizes what a service dog should be. Diane maintains Lisa's manners and the team is a great ambassador for assistance dogs. At home, Lisa 'gets to be a 'regular dog' and play and cavort in her big yard.
